what is the difference in an engagement ring versus any other ring?
im looking to buy an engagement ring but after going to a couple local jewelers and scouring the web im still thoroughly confused. i know i want a white gold ring with a pink sapphire as the center stone with little diamonds around it however finding it is another story. please help!
What you could do is go to an engagement ring site that allows you to "build your own ring" lots of sites have this. But just buy the setting, not the stone. Try bluenile, danforthdiamond (my favorite and the best value), brilliantearth, adiamore, or a chain jeweler like James Allen
click on the build your ring option, but don't choose a diamond, just go through and pick a setting (the ring part)
then go to a separate site and buy a pink saphire. Try typing "loose saphire stones" into google. You can find some really nice deals.
when you get both of them take them to a jeweler and have have them put the stone into the setting. That will cost about $30-$50 and you'll probably have to leave the ring there for a couple of days while they do it. That's the best way considering your plan. It frees up your options, and you'll be buying her a ring that's meant to have a diamond in it, so it will be of high quality. Sometimes its hard finding the perfect ring if its anything other than diamond.
