I want to get my wife some ruby earrings. Would I go seriously wrong by getting the lab-created ones?
My wife just gave birth to our first child, a girl. We have got Christmas soon, her birthday is in nov and Valentines day is just around the corner. I wanted to get her something to celebrate the birth of our child. And lets face it, she deserves it .... natural childbirth and she kept up her good spirits the entire time ... greatest human effort ever ... anyway, shes always wanted emerald cut ruby earrings in yellow gold. I found some really nice ones at a great price, but they are "lab created." Am I being a cheap SOB? Ladies, how would you feel about these?
The world needs more men like you. What a caring, giving husband you seem to be. I'm sure that your wife would agree, it's the thought that counts. Lab created ones are pretty as well, and she would appreciate them regardless of whether they were real or "fake." It's hard to tell the difference if you get good lab-created jewelry. I have no idea what the prices are like on the real ones, but I'm guessing it's probably pretty steep. If it's not too much - if it's something you can afford at a price your wife would agree is reasonable for your given financial circumstances - then splurge on the rubies. But you just had a child, and that gets expensive very quickly, so saving on money might be the more practical thing to do, and your wife would probably agree. Again, I have no idea how much rubies cost or what your particular money situation is, but either way, for even thinking of getting her something so nice, you win.
