If you want to buy a ruby necklace, there are a few tips that will come in handy. For one, you should know that rubies are very hard and do not deface or scratch easily. They are extremely durable and so they are great as gifts for people who you know will be wearing them frequently.

The size, the quality and color of the ruby will decide the price that you pay, and larger stones are more expensive while clear rubies with little or no inclusions will cost more than those with visible inclusions.
